Explore the rich history of aviation in Texas. Learn the stories of the people, science, and technology that made it all happen. Home school families will receive the discounted school group rates for Exhibit, IMAX® Theatre, and Texas Spirit Theater admissions. 

Student tours of the new special exhibition Tango Alpha Charlie: Texas Aviation Celebration will be available, along with a special Student Flight Log activity packet. Between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., education volunteers will lead students in hands-on activities, demonstrations, and much more!

See documentary films Hubble 3D or Legends of Flight in the IMAX Theatre, or The Star of Destiny and Wild Texas Weather in the Texas Spirit Theater.

Enjoy activities related to exhibits, and pick up complimentary materials at the Resource Table.

Frequently Asked Questions

Question: How much does it cost to go into the exhibits?
Answer: Admission to the Museum exhibits is free to all Homeschoolers, Chaperones, and Teachers, but you still need to get an exhibit admission sticker at the ticketing counter.

Question: How much does it cost to go to the IMAX Theatre?
Answer: Admission to the IMAX Theatre is $4.00 for students, and $5.00 for teachers and chaperones.

Question: How much does it cost to go to The Star of Destiny or Wild Texas Weather programs?
Answer: Tickets to The Star of Destiny and Wild Texas Weather multimedia programs are $3.00 for students and $3.00 for teachers and chaperones. 

Question: Where do I buy tickets for the IMAX Theatre and the Texas Spirit Theater Theater?
Answer: Tickets may be purchased at the ticketing counter, where you may also pick up your exhibit admission stickers. To make reservations for the IMAX Theatre or Texas Spirit Theater, please call 512-936-4649.

Question: Where can we eat lunch?
Answer: Lunch may be purchased in the Story of Texas Cafe. Outside food and drinks are not permitted inside the cafe. If you plan to bring your lunch, you are more than welcome to eat at the covered picnic area across 18th Street at the Stephen F. Austin Building.
