The Texas Spirit Theater

Children enjoying the multimedia effects in the Spirit Theater The Texas Spirit Theater is the biggest multimedia special effects theater of its kind in Texas. Located on the second floor of The Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum, this 200-seat venue boasts three screens, fixed sets, and several thrilling special effects to create a truly unique experience.

The Theater has two experiential films with daily showtimes, the Star of Destiny, takes audiences on an epic journey through the history of Texas. Coming soon, Wild Texas Weather, a documentary that explores the fascinating phenomenon of tumultuous weather in the Lone Star State, both past and present.

There is no late seating in the Texas Spirit Theater.

The Texas Spirit Theater is designed as a flexible space that can be easily transformed from an all-purpose auditorium to a venue presenting two unique types of shows. Equipped with the latest media systems and special effects, this Theater sets a new standard for museum theaters around the world with cutting-edge production values and entertaining, history-based programming -- including Storyteller Programs, Guest Lecture Series, and other special topic programs exploring Texas history.

After hours, the Theater can be rented as an auditorium for special events, either with or without the feature presentations. The Texas Spirit Theater is a fully accessible facility.
