Museum’s founder was a Freemason
This Scottish Rite white cap and pin belonged to Bob Bullock, the 38th Lieutenant Governor of Texas and founder of the Texas State History Museum.
White caps like this one are worn by Freemasons who have been honored with the Scottish Rite’s Thirty-third Degree. This is an honorary degree conferred upon members in recognition of outstanding service to the Scottish Rite, or in public life. Bob Bullock championed the preservation of Texas history and the formation of this Museum. He was presented with his 33° Inspector General, Honorary degree on November 16, 1981.
