George H. W. Bush's presidential inauguration boots
Custom footware for a U.S. President with Texas roots
In recognition of President George H. W. Bush's (b. 1924) inauguration in 1989, the Lucchese Boot Company of El Paso made this pair of goatskin boots and gave them to President Bush.
Bush became a Texan after moving his family west during the 1940s to enter the oil industry. He served as Vice President of the United States from 1981 to 1989, and President of the United States from 1989 to 1993.
The Lucchese Boot Company has been making custom boots in Texas since 1883. Originally founded in San Antonio, the company moved to El Paso in 1986.
