Spanish Colonial trunk
A handcrafted piece of 18th century furniture
Print Page
This colorfully painted trunk is made from sabino wood, which comes from the Montezuma bald cypress tree, native to much of Mexico as well as the Rio Grande Valley. A hard and durable wood, it was frequently used by Spanish or Mexican craftsmen to make furniture. The paint is a later addition.
