Faded Bloom
Faded Agave Havardiana bloom in Big Bend National Park spotted near the South Rim trail. Wonderful example of where there's beauty even in death. There is something big about this photo and the way that the plant looms against a vast and empty sky.
EnlargeLate Night Sojurn to Chisos Mountains Lodge
Ascending into the Chisos Mountains at about 2:00 a.m., I decided to try this long exposure shot. My biggest fear wasn’t approaching cars, but silent predators who might think I was road-kill.
EnlargeThe Iconic Window After Sunset
Following a busy day in Big Bend, I was late getting to the right spot near the Chisos Mountains Lodge for this shot, but I was still lucky enough to catch nature’s portraiture right after sunset.
EnlargeGrande Magic
Casa Grande always welcomes us to Basin Campground and it was a delight to be able to see it covered in clouds during Thanksgiving 2015.
EnlargeBalanced Rocks
Beautiful evening light at the Balanced Rocks. A perfect payoff after the Grapevine Hike.
EnlargeApproaching Chisos
We took this photo early in the morning as we drove to Chisos to begin the South Rim hike. There was beautiful light on the morning drive, and we just had to stop for a photo.
EnlargeThanksgiving Morning at the Window
Big Bend, and the Basin Campground, is our Thanksgiving tradition and this last year, Big Bend greeted us with a mist-full morning and a superb view of the Window at the famous trail head.
EnlargeRolling Through Big Bend
We spent almost a whole week in Big Bend and even in a wheelchair you can enjoy this beautiful National Park.
EnlargeA Dike On the Way to The Rio Grand
A dike on the road to Boquillas Crossing before the tunnel. It looks like serpent swimming through the rocks.
