Fall in Pine Canyon
The gold and red of the leaves in Pine Canyon were a beautiful sight on the late Fall morning.
EnlargeView from the Top
On my last visit to Big Bend National Park we hiked to the top of the Lost Mine Trail. The view was spectacular. Off in the distance were dark clouds and you could see where it was raining all around us but fortunately it never rained on us.

While traveling to Panther Junction from K-Bar these two were discovered on the side of the road. The animals stayed together long enough for me to grab the camera and snap a few shots.
EnlargeOcotillo
We were unaware that we were looking at the well known "Mule Ears". We stopped to photograph the cool view of this desert plant with mountains in the background. After showing the photograph around, I was schooled in my lack of knowledge of Big Bend.
EnlargeSunrise Santa Elena Canyon
During June the rising sun illuminates into the deepest parts of the canyon. This photograph was one frame from a time lapse of the changing colors at sunrise.
EnlargeSunlight on the Desert
This was taken in November 2014 at the end of a cold and overcast week. As we were driving back into the Chisos Mountains the overcast sky started to break and the late afternoon sun began to shine on the desert hills below us.
