Catching A Sunrise
Two friends photographing a colorful sunrise. This photo was taken near the Juniper Canyon trail head in a back country campsite looking south. Pretty much anywhere you point your camera in the park won't disappoint, but don't miss the colors at sunrise.
EnlargeLucky Charm
The perennially perky rainbow cactus. Even without blooms the cactus bands of color brighten the drab desert scrub. Spring brings the sunny big displays that dwarf the plant.
EnlargeTaffety
How could a honey bee resist these colors of the Glory of Texas cactus with the promise of sweet nectar being covered in pollen in the process? Oh the Bloom of 2015 - a bloom of a lifetime coming on the heels of five years of drought.
EnlargeLight Painting - Sandstone Pinnacles
This is a light painting achieved by illuminating the subject with a small tac light. The exposure was 10 seconds at f/5.6, ISO 800, focal length 17mm.
EnlargeTrekking through History
The geological history of the land is on full display all around park visitors.
