Del Carmens View via the Lost Mine Trail
The hike up the Lost Mine Trail offers a great view of the Del Carmens.
EnlargeCasa Grande Dusted
The clouds finally clear enough to reveal Case Grande with a dusting of snow and burst of color from the trees as a bonus.
EnlargeBackbone Ridge with Bluebonnets
Backbone Ridge is stunning in and of itself, but with bluebonnets in the foreground? It can't be beat.
EnlargeAerial Mariscal Canyon
While flying with a friend who needed aerial shots for a book project, I managed this shot of "The Big Bend" of Texas. Mariscal Canyon is the place on the map where the Rio Grande makes a sharp turn to the northeast before heading southeast to the Gulf.
EnlargeNothing Mellow About It
Yellow makes me happy. I don't know why. These flower over took the landscape, and a broken down old fence wasn't going to stop them.
EnlargeComplimentary Colors
The complimentary colors of yellow and purple make for a stunning scene on the drive from Panther Junction to Rio Grande Village.
EnlargeBig Bend Blooms
In the spring of 2015, Big Bend was blessed with miles and miles of flowers.
EnlargeVermillion Flycatcher
While give visiting family a tour of the park, we spotted this flycatcher at Rio Grande Village.
