Mule Ears with Ocotillo
At first it all looks the same...but then you slow down, WAY down, and then you see it-- the diversity, the colors, the richness. Amazing!
EnlargeGrapevine Hills Trail to Balanced Rock
The Grapevine Hills Trail to Balanced Rock is one of my favorite hikes in the park. So much to see packed in a mile hike!
EnlargeCerro Castellan
A wonderfully clear day, really sets off the terrain and color of Cerro Castellan. I am awed at the richness and diversity of the landscape. At times it seems you are on another planet. I cannot help feeling small and humbled by it all.

EnlargeSunset Through The Window
From the center of the Chisos Basin looking out through The Window as the sun fades into the night.
EnlargeInto the Park
Driving into the park at sunrise. The light low behind the mountains reflecting off the gray clouds creates a surreal landscape.
EnlargeFoxey Lady
I was plopped down watching the sunset. The shadows were getting long and she sneaked up quietly and stayed a while. In fact, she seemed to enjoy the attention I paid.
