Homestead Ruins
The ruins of this homestead are (other than the park roads and trails) one of the few unnatural elements of Big Bend's landscape. Their presence helps one imagine what it was like for early Texans experiencing this gorgeous sunrise for the first time.

After weeks of heavy rain, the road into Big Bend was lined on both sides with rows of beautiful Big Bend Bluebonnets. They welcomed visitors into the park like a Texas red carpet.
