These are the remains of the bath house at the Langford Hot Springs, developed by J.O. Langford in 1909 after he heard of the curative hot springs. This was the first major tourist attraction of the Big Bend area. The water is consistently 105 degrees.
EnlargeDagger Flats Auto Drive
A little-visited area of the park and not an easy road to drive, Dagger Flats has plants probably hundreds of years old, a remote drive well worth it.
EnlargeGrapevine Hills Trail from Balanced Rock
This is looking back on the Grapevine Hills Trail from Balanced Rock. One of our favorite hikes in the park, the last quarter mile can be challenging, but worth the effort to reach Balanced Rock.
