Dorgan-Sublett Ranch
The Dorgan-Sublett trail is a short trail with high payoff. The views from all around are amazing. Be sure and visit the ruins and read the history of this spot in the Big Bend National Park.
EnlargeRio Grande from Hot Springs
Hot Springs is a relaxing trail ending with a natural spa experience. If you wander an little past the springs, this is the view you see of the Rio Grande.
EnlargeTerlingua Cemetary
A beautiful little cemetery in Terlingua. So much history and so much love.
EnlargeHoodoos
Wonderful rock formations can be found all over Big Bend. The hoodoos, or "fairy chimneys" are some of my personal favorites. These were found off Texas Highway 170.
EnlargeLife and Death in the Desert
Walking the trails of Big Bend National Park, I am struck not only by the beauty of what can manage to live in such harsh conditions, but also the beauty of death. I love the fantastic glimpse that the desert provides.
EnlargeCrack of Dawn in the Hoodoos
Getting up at 3:30 A.M. gave us the advantage of being present at the first light of day to see this. The rocks were lighted by a nearly full moon to the west.
