Inside the Exhibition
This exhibit displays selected works on paper from one of the most comprehensive collections of Black art in America. Collected by Dr. Harmon and Harriet Kelley of San Antonio over nearly 40 years, works span from the early 20th century to the present. The artworks show the breadth of Black art’s rich history in America, including art from the Harlem Renaissance, Federal Art Project, Civil Rights Movement, and the International Contemporary art world. The pieces are in a variety of media, including watercolors, pastels, mixed media, etchings, linocuts, silkscreen prints, and more. Information about the artists, techniques, and historical movements shown in the exhibit is available through a free printed exhibit guide. The exhibit and exhibit guide are presented in English and Spanish.
