About Artist Frank Reaugh
Frank Reaugh (1860-1945) was often referred to as the "Dean of Texas artists," and he considered Twenty-four Hours with the Herd — a 1930s series of seven pastel landscape paintings that document a day in the life of a longhorn cattle drive — "the most important work portraying the early range that [Reaugh] had done." Reaugh created a multidisciplinary performance of the same title in 1933.
