Cowboys and Space: Join us for Austin Museum Day and enjoy activities and fun as you explore two unique exhibitions, Cowboys in Space and Beyond Planet Earth. Special family programs from 12:00-3:00pm combine art creation, exploration stations, and gallery activities.

Enjoy FREE exhibition admission. Explore the Story of Texas through three floors of exhibitions that showcase artifacts from around the state. Special family programs from 12-3 p.m. combine art creation, exploration stations, and gallery activities.
Event Details:
• Use your imagination to create an alien alter ego and explore the Cowboys in Space and Fantastic Worlds exhibit in your extraterrestrial best.
• Discover the connection between math, space, and science fiction with MathHappens.
• Design a space ship and create a futuristic old west character with guidance from Badgerdog Creative Writing Program.
• Channel your inner alien or astronaut with Giddyup Art Studio and create a postcard to send home from space.
• Enjoy a healthy snack from Common Threads.
Please note: The State of Texas is building a new fully pedestrianized green space between the Bullock Texas State History Museum and the Texas Capitol. The Museum and its parking garage remain open during construction. Surface parking lots and most parking meters will not be available for the duration of the construction project.
