Program Details
From boots to big hair and beyond, Texas "style" has always been a staple of Hollywood. What do these depictions tell us about real Texans and our history? Join us for an exploration of the best and worst of Texas fashion on-screen through clips and conversation.
Prior to the program from 6:00pm to 7:00pm enjoy self-guided tours of the exhibit Fashion Forward.
Please note: although Fashion Forward will be open, there will not be a formal reception with food or drink prior to the program.

Annette Becker is the director of the University of North Texas’s Texas Fashion Collection, an archive of nearly 20,000 historic and designer garments and accessories spanning over 250 years of fashion history. Becker holds a BA in Art History and English from the University of Kansas and an MA in Art History from UNT, where she is currently pursuing a PhD in History. Her research focuses on fashion history and material culture, and her professional practice focuses on making the past accessible and relevant to today’s museum audiences.
