Explore Texas wildlife through hands-on activities with local wildlife organizations.
Event Details
Enjoy FREE exhibition admission all day during H-E-B Free First Sundays, held the first Sunday of every month. Activities are from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Explore the Story of Texas through three floors of exhibitions that showcase and tell the history of artifacts from around the state.
Activities:
- Check out real bird nests, learn about Texas birds, and make your own bird nest craft with Travis Audubon
- Join our friends at Girlstart for interactive STEM demos and hands-on activities for kids of all ages
- Learn all about Texas bees and do a bee craft with the Muth Lab
- Make pollinator seed balls with Texas Outdoor Women Network
- Learn about composting and see live red wiggler worms up close with Keep Austin Beautiful
- 10:30 a.m. Listen to the story Am I Even a Bee? read by the author, Dr. Felicity Muth
- 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Enjoy a wildlife-themed storytime with Westbank Library
- Purchase tickets to enjoy a screening of the documentary film, Deep in the Heart, showing at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Family programs provide educational and engaging activities for young Texans and their caregivers. Events are designed to bring families together, spark conversations and provide opportunities for growth and development.
