Explore Texas wildlife through hands-on activities with local wildlife organizations.

Event Details

Enjoy FREE exhibition admission all day during H-E-B Free First Sundays, held the first Sunday of every month. Activities are from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Explore the Story of Texas through three floors of exhibitions that showcase and tell the history of artifacts from around the state.

Activities:

  • Check out real bird nests, learn about Texas birds, and make your own bird nest craft with Travis Audubon
  • Learn about animal rescue and rehabilitation with Austin Wildlife Rescue
  • Join our friends at Girlstart for interactive STEM demos and hands-on activities for kids of all ages
  • Explore urban wildlife with hands-on activities from Texas Parks and Wildlife
  • 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Enjoy a wildlife-themed storytime with Westbank Library
  • Purchase tickets to enjoy a screening of the documentary film, Deep in the Heart, showing at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
