Discover the science of the Story of Texas!
Program Details
On Science Thursdays, students can drop in and explore the Bullock Museum, see demonstrations, and participate in hands-on activities with STEM experts from Central Texas Discover Engineering. Science Thursdays are FREE for all groups who have pre-registered for a Bullock Museum field trip. Every Science Thursday is different, but all activities connect to content in the exhibits and films at the Museum, and may include some of the following:
Hair-Raising Experience with a Van de Graaff Generator
See how electricity can make your hair stand on end!
Boat Race
Design a boat that will float using limited materials and race it using only your breath.
Don't Sink the Cargo!
Can you distribute your cargo without sinking your vessel?
Float your Boat
Hypothesize about what will sink and what will float.
Red Bird Flight Simulator
Learn how to pilot a Cessna like Texas From Above.
WWI Code Breaking
Test your encoding and decryption skills using methods like those in WWI America.
