Evenings Out: Texas Hold 'Em Mini Tournament

Programs

January 13, 2015 6:00pm - 8:00pm

Why fight Austin's traffic when you can stay downtown and enjoy happy hour? Evenings Out include trivia, games, music, great conversation, and plenty of Texas food and libations.

Card sharps, novices, and everyone in between are welcome at the Museum's Texas Hold 'Em Mini Tournament. Though the inventor of Texas Hold' Em is lost to history, it is widely recognized that the first hand of the game was played in Robstown, Texas, outside of Corpus Christi, in the early 1900s. Since that time, the game has quickly become the most popular card game at casinos across the country, earning it the reputation of the "Cadillac of Poker." Enjoy a lightning round style poker tournament to crown the Best of the Bullock—but don't worry, only your reputation is at stake!

This program is part of the Texas Art and Culture Series which is generously supported by Lone Star Beer—the national beer of Texas.
