Enjoy FREE exhibition admission all day during Free First Sundays, held the first Sunday of every month.
Event Details
Families can explore the Story of Texas through three floors of exhibitions that showcase artifacts from around the state. Special family programs from 12-3 p.m. combine art creation, exploration stations, and gallery activities.
Live up to the Texas state motto of Friendship with friendly family fun including art, music, and learning how to be a friend to all.
Event Details:
- Collaborate with friends on a weaving project celebrating community with Creative Action.
- Join Mi Casa Es Tu Casa for a parent-child music class to introduce and reinforce Spanish for you and your children.
- Test your knowledge about local wildlife and learn how to be a friend to wildlife with Austin Wildlife Rescue.
- Stamp and dye a personalized leather key chain with leatherworking artist Tressa Gilmer.
Please note: The State of Texas is building a new fully pedestrianized green space between the Bullock Texas State History Museum and the Texas Capitol. The Museum and its parking garage remain open during construction. Surface parking lots and most parking meters will not be available for the duration of the construction project.
