Join culinary educator and author, Kate Payne as she shares recipes from the The Hip Girl's Guide to the Kitchen, and gives a demonstration of fermenting and home canning. Perfect for families, foodies and friends these hands-on activities and tastings in the gallery will change the way you think about the food you eat and where it comes from.
Kate Payne is an author, freelance writer and part-time marketing team member for Texas Farmers’ Market. She teaches classes on food preservation, bitters and seasonal beverages, and other topics both privately and at culinary centers across the country. She recently launched Salud! Bitters, a Texas-inspired and regionally sourced small-batch bitters line. Her books Hip Girl's Guide to Homemaking (HarperCollins, 2011) and Hip Girl’s Guide to the Kitchen (HarperCollins, 2014) are available wherever books are sold.
