The Museum Store will feature pottery, artwork, cookbooks, food products, and literature from local companies throughout the summer. On select days, hear from the artisans themselves as they demonstrate their products and discuss how their own Texas stories inspire their creations.

Get to Know the Artisan
A seventh generation Texan, artist Christopher Alan Smith creates maps about Texas history. Chris began creating the idea for the Battlefield Texas Series in 1999, at which time he began researching Texas' historical events. Chris creates his detailed map illustrations by using pen and ink (stipple technique) on acrylics. Between his extensive research and tedious illustrative process, Chris takes months to create most of his maps.
