Texas Artisan Feature: Immigration Stories
Programs
June 20, 2015 11:00am - 4:00pm
Texas artisans tell their stories through their work. The Museum Store will feature pottery, artwork, cookbooks, food products, and literature from local companies throughout the summer. On select days, hear from the artisans themselves as they demonstrate their products and discuss how their own Texas stories inspire their creations.
During World Refugee Day, the Bullock Museum celebrates the cultural traditions of our newest Texans. Visit the Museum Store today to browse books about different cultures and ethnicities that settled in Texas in the past, and have helped shaped the story of Texas. Titles include:
- Austin's Old Three Hundred: The First Anglo Colony by Wolfram M. Von-Maszewski
- The Indian Texans by James M. Smallwood
- The African Texans by Alwyn Barr
- The Mexican Texans by Phyllis McKenzie
- The Asian Texans by Marilyn Dell Brady
