1 airplane. 1 pilot. 36 hours of flying time. 569.6 gallons of fuel. 44,000 photographs. The borders of Texas as you have never seen them before. Stunning large format aerial photographs and a first person diary from pilot Jay B Sauceda bring the borders of Texas to life in this portrait of the state’s boundary lines.

Please note this event is open only to Bullock Museum upper-level members (Hacienda, Austin Society, Bronze Star Society, Texas Spirit Society, and Story of Texas Society) and Museum VIP invited special guests.

Event Details

Join us for a conversation with photographer and pilot Jay B Sauceda about his journey to capture the beauty of Texas, from learning to fly to experimenting with different photography methods.

Afterward, view the Texas From Above exhibition in an intimate after-hours setting enjoyed over refreshments, classic Texas hors d’oeuvres, and live music. Flight simulators will put you in the pilot seat so you can try your hand at soaring the skies.
