First issue of Lowrider Magazine
Established in 1977, magazine gives voice to lowrider community
Lowrider Magazine was established in 1977. Initially highlighting the California lowrider scene, it soon expanded its reach to all parts of the U.S.
Giving a shared voice to the lowrider community, it featured car trends, individual cars and owners, car clubs, car shows, and issues important to Mexican Americans. By 2000, it was among the bestselling automotive magazines in the country. The final print issue was published in March 2020, but its influence continues through its national tour of Lowrider Supershows.
