Juneteenth: The Galveston Story features stories about Juneteenth as told by prominent Galveston County community and descendants of the people who were there in 1865. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Samuel Collins III, a lifelong resident of Galveston County, graduated from Texas A&M University in 1994. In 2015 he was named Galveston County’s Citizen of the Year for his work in the preservation community on the local, state, and national levels. Samuel currently serves as an advisor with the National Trust for Historic Preservation representing Texas. Samuel is also working in Brazoria County with the Texas Historical Commission at the Levi Jordan Plantation as a consultant for the new African American museum that will be built at the site. He is co-chair of the Juneteenth Mural Committee in Galveston, which led one of the largest Public Art projects in the country recognizing Juneteenth and the contributions of the United States Colored Troops in delivering the message of freedom to the state of Texas on June 19, 1865.
Sam Addington is a 2020 graduate from Texas A&M University. He is a passionate photographer, videographer, documentarian, and an award-winning editor with over 10 years of experience.
The Texas Spirit Theater located on the Bullock Museum's second floor is one of the most beautiful film experiences in Austin and features multisensory special effects such as lightning, rain, and other surprises. Please note that children age 15 and under must be accompanied in the Museum and theaters by someone at least 16 years of age.
