Event Details

Enjoy FREE exhibition admission all day during H-E-B Free First Sundays, held the first Sunday of every month. Activities are from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Explore the Story of Texas through three floors of exhibitions that showcase and tell the history of artifacts from around the state. Learn about community art and expression through interactive crafts and activities, connected to the featured exhibit Acts of Faith: Religion & the American West.

Activities:

  • Learn about Sequoyah's Syllabary and experience a Cherokee fingerweaving demonstration with Doug Martin.
  • 10:30 a.m. & 11:30 a.m. Join Austin Public Library for a special Art Smart: Dia de los Niños storytime and craft.
  • Join our friends at Girlstart for interactive STEM demos and hands-on activities for kids of all ages.
  • Explore themes from the featured exhibit Acts of Faith: Religion & the American West through hands-on crafts including paper quilt square making and stained glass bookmarks.
