Rasool Berry writer, producer, and host of Juneteenth: Faith and Freedom, serves as teaching pastor at The Bridge Church in Brooklyn, New York. He also is the Director of Partnerships & Content Development with Our Daily Bread Ministries. Rasool graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor’s degree in Africana Studies and Sociology. Rasool is a sought-after writer on the intersection of faith and culture. He’s the host of the Christianity Today sponsored Where Ya From? Podcast. He lives in Brooklyn with his wife, Tamica, and their daughter.

Mary Beth Minnis producer, has worked on several feature-length and short documentaries and produced eight documentary films including Jump Shot: The Kenny Sailors Story, Unforgivable, and Juneteenth: Faith & Freedom. She is also an Executive Producer on the Juneteenth: Faith & Freedom accompanying soundtrack. Mary Beth is thrilled to have been a part of presenting these films to audiences around the world. While she appreciates the glowing receptions of the documentaries and the international attention they have received, it is the sparking of hope and the beginning of important conversations with life-changing consequences that keeps Mary Beth in the documentary film world.

Ya’Ke Smith director, is known for his unflinching and veracious style of storytelling and is a rising voice in independent cinema. Ya’Ke graduated with his B.A. from the Communication Arts Department at the University of The Incarnate Word, where he later became the youngest recipient of the Alumni of Distinction for Professional Achievement award. He received his M.F.A. from the University of Texas at Austin’s film program, where he is currently an Associate Professor of film and also served as the inaugural Associate Dean for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Moody College of Communication. He was previously the Morgan Woodward Distinguished Professor of Film at the University of Texas at Arlington. Variety magazine named him one of the best film educators in the world.

Virginia Cumberbatch, moderator, is a storyteller, racial justice educator, and organizer. Virginia’s work sits at the intersection of community advocacy and creative activism. Virginia holds a BA in history from Williams College and a MA from the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs. She served as the director of community engagement and social equity at The University of Texas. She serves as a racial justice educator, advising several organizations including the World Economic Forum, and has spoken around the world at programs like SXSW and the Social Impact Festival and more. She co-authored the book As We Saw It: The Story of Integration at The University of Texas. Cumberbatch is the recipient of several honors, including Anti-Defamation League’s Social Justice Award, Austin 40 Under 40, and The University of Texas Outstanding Young Texas Exes award.
