Learn about Texas gems and stones through hands-on crafts and activities for ages 2–5.

Event Details

Learn about the Texas State gem and stone through fun activities, stories, sensory stations, and a special presentation by geologist Linda Ruiz McCall. Join us for this hands-on program incorporating movement, play, and tactile learning into engaging experiences where younger children (ages 2–5) discover something new alongside their caregivers.

This program is FREE for Members or with Museum admission.

About the Partner

Linda Ruiz McCall is a geologist and resource center manager at the Bureau of Economic Geology. She received her BS in Geological Sciences and an MBA in Finance from UT Austin, and an MA from Teachers College of Columbia University. Linda is passionate about teaching others about natural resources and she is especially interested in new media in science communication.
